What does hypnosis really feel like?
Hypnosis is not weird or unnatural. It actually feels totally natural and even rational. It can be compared to when you are in a ‘flow state.” All concentration, almost no effort. You are completely absorbed in the activity at hand. You probably recognize this situations: you’re busy with your hobby or reading a good book and time flies by. Concentrating comes easily. That’s what hypnosis feels like!

How am I hypnotised?
During the lesson you sit or lie in a comfortable reclining chair. Through your headphones you listen to a guided relaxation: your teacher talks to you in a gentle manner with quiet music playing in the background. All you have to do is listen. This puts you under hypnosis, or deep relaxation. Both are good and help you absorb the material effortlessly.

I also want to learn to read and/or write Arabic. Do I do that with you under hypnosis?
No, we read and write in the ‘usual’ way. Because the Arabic script is different from the Latin script we use in Western Europe, you cannot follow this part of the lessons under hypnosis.
However, even during these reading and writing lessons, you have the advantage that you have already begun to hear and speak the language under hypnosis. You’ve already been fully focused on the language and you are even more open to new learning material that fits in with it. You’vealready laid a ‘foundation’ for the reading and writing knowledge of Arabic that you are going to acquire.
