“Russian language course under hypnosis? Um… I’m not so sure”
Hypnosis: many of our students initially can’t get past that word. Because oh, that sounds a bit eccentric…
Fortunately, that tension is always gone after the first lesson. That’s because it turns out: hypnosis is not weird at all. You aren’t ‘gone’, but just feel very calm and focused. So there’s nothing to be hesitant about!
And, the effect of learning Russian under hypnosis is fantastic:
- You learn effortlessly and with great pleasure;
- You relax completely, and are able to learn the materials even more effectively;
- You will be amazed at how much you understand and can do after just a couple lessons.
What does hypnosis actually feel like?
You actually already know what hypnosis feels like. Do you remember the last time you were completely absorbed in an activity? For example, you read a nice book, watched an exciting movie or were busy with your hobby… and suddenly it was late! Time seemed to have flown by, because you were so fully ‘in the moment’: you were in a state of flow.
The feeling hypnosis gives can be closely compared to this flow state. Because you focus entirely on one activity (in this case your Russian language course), the rest of the world doesn’t exist for you for a short while. As a result, you are fully focused on your lesson, which ensures that you learn Russian very quickly and quite effectively!
Good to know: you learn to understand and speak Russian with us under hypnosis, but we learn to write and read Russian in the ‘usual’ way. After all, you need explanation and practice to become familiar with the Cyrillic script.

This Russian course does not yet exist
- You do not book an existing Russian language course at Heart of Language. Here’s how it works:
- You choose what you want to learn. What is important to you, what do you want to be able to do in Russian?
- You choose where you want to learn. With us in The Hague or Amsterdam, at your chosen location or an online language course (read: at home on the couch): all of these are possible and can even be combined with each other.
- You choose how fast you want to learn. A crash course in Russian in 1 week? Would you like a 2-hour lesson every week? Irregular lessons if you have a hole in your schedule? Everything is possible.
- You choose how much you want to learn. A Russian course consists of 40 hours, but you can always extend or shorten it to your liking. You can also schedule individual lessons instead.
- You choose who you want to learn with. Your lessons are always 1-on-1. But: you can also take your lessons together with, for example, your colleague, your partner or a friend.
